Settlement Tanks for the BIOROCK

The BIOROCK sustainable wastewater treatment system requires a settlement tank prior to the BIOROCK plant.

The first tank is a single stage or two stage settlement tank which, if required,  is correctly sized for the BIOROCK model supplied.  Most 2 chamber existing septic tanks can be used as settlement tanks or WTE can supply a new one as part of the system on request.  They are made especially for WTE by Condor.  They are supplied with an effluent filter to prevent suspended solids from exiting the settlement tank.

You can use a two chamber brick or concrete septic tank as the settlement tank if it is the correct size and in good condition.  In this case you only need to order the BIOROCK sewage treatment plant itself, not the Biorock system.  You cannot use an 'onion' shaped septic tank as the effluent is too septic.

Sizes are :-

BIOROCK Plant
Settlement Tank Size Required
1 to 6 person
2800 Litres
6 to10 person
3600 or 4500 Litres (3600 up to 8 persons)
11 to 15 person
4500 or 6000 Litres (4500 up to 12 persons)

Larger BIOROCK systems are modular - a 20 person system would comprise of a settlement tank followed by 2 x BIOROCK 10 sewage plants fed from a flow splitter box.  These settlement tanks are sized to order.
